Role Purpose We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Trainer specialising in Debt to join our Learning and Development team. This key role is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, high-quality training programs that equip our advisors with the skills and knowledge needed to provide accurate, compassionate, and effective debt advice. You will play a crucial part in enhancing our organisation’s capability to support clients facing complex financial challenges. A strong background in debt advice and training delivery is essential. Major Duties 1. Develop and Deliver High-Quality Training Research, design, and deliver training courses to a high standard, ensuring they are practical, interactive, and aligned with the latest industry standards and regulatory guidance. Create varied, engaging, and accessible learning materials across multiple formats (presentations, e-learning modules, workshops, etc.). Incorporate real-world case studies and examples to enhance learning outcomes. Record and maintain a library of podcasts, webinars, and learning resources to support ongoing development. 2. Assess and Support Staff Development Monitor and evaluate staff skill levels in the area of debt advice. Develop and maintain individual training plans tailored to each advisor’s role and development needs. Collect and analyse feedback to continually improve training effectiveness. 3. Maintain Organisational Training Standards Ensure all training materials meet the standards of external accreditation bodies. Maintain accurate training records, calendars, and compliance documentation. 4. Stay Current and Innovative Keep up to date with the latest debt advice regulations, best practices, and industry developments. Research new and emerging learning methodologies and integrate them into training delivery. Contribute to wider learning and development initiatives across the organisation. Required Qualifications and Experience Minimum 2 years of experience delivering structured training programs. Minimum 2 years of experience in debt advice or financial guidance (Scottish context desirable). Strong understanding of debt solutions, regulations, and client engagement best practices. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Proven ability to design creative and practical learning materials. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Desirable Experience Professional qualification in Learning and Development, Debt Advice, or related field. Experience delivering training within a contact centre, advice sector, or similar environment. Familiarity with Scottish debt solutions (DAS, Trust Deeds, Sequestration, etc.). Full-Time Position: 31.25 hours over 4 days (Monday–Friday) Work location: On-site ( Glasgow) Behavioural Skills Required Highly professional and reliable. Strong communication and writing skills. Committed to continuous personal and professional development. Remuneration : In return, we offer a competitive salary for a 4-day week within the sector of £34,116.00 per year.  We also offer 30.5 days annual leave (38 pro rata), 8% pension contribution, death in service insurance, and reward and benefit programmes.
