Overview The Amazon Prime Video Client team is looking for a smart, motivated, and results-oriented software development engineer to join our team. We are a high-energy and innovative group focused on abstracting away client development complexity through automation, services, and tooling that enable Prime Video client teams to deliver features at the highest quality and fastest velocity. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about building developer productivity tools, automation frameworks, and cross-client infrastructure that powers Prime Video's Living Room, Mobile, and Web experiences. Successful candidates for this position will be self-starters with strong problem solving skills who love building systems that enable other engineers to move faster. Strong communication skills and a desire to tackle complex problems that emerge from supporting multiple client platforms at Amazon scale are also a must. They write high quality, maintainable, and robust code, often in Java, Kotlin, Swift, or TypeScript. They build flexible automation systems without over-engineering and choose simple, straightforward solutions over more complex ones. They understand a broad range of data structures and algorithms and know how, when and when not to use them; recognize and use design patterns to solve infrastructure and tooling problems. They understand how build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks work, perform and scale across multiple client platforms. Qualifications Basic Qualifications 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team Preferred Qualifications 5 years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
