Job Description

EDGE Innovate are looking for an experienced fitter with Power Unit Experience to Join our busy Power Unit Team. The Successful candidate will assist with day to day assembly on the factory floor. The post holder will be based mainly in the power unit team and will be involved mainly in helping build all aspects of the Power Units, however they may be asked to perform tasks other than those directly related to assembly. Key Responsibilities: Service Delivery Building Power Unit for Machines. To read and clearly understand engineering drawings. Meet set targets while working in assembly area. Assemble machines to correct specification and quality standards using relevant specification and Bills of Materials. Support and assist in solutions to overcome problems found on assembly. Assist and support in testing set ups. Ensure proper handling and storage of assembly tools. Ensure proper handling of equipment to minimise damage through assemble process. Assembly and sub-assembly of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components using battery and air powered tools. Grinding and cutting operations using 9 and 4 angle grinders. Safe and controlled movement of production parts ie lifting and transporting components in the workshop using Gantry and Jib cranes. Safe use of lifting slings, lock-out and tag-out procedures. Leave working areas in a fit state to ensure no unnecessary health and safety risks prevail. Work in a manner that ensures the safety of oneself and other colleagues. General Uphold the Core Values of the company and work to achieve the wider organisational objectives as detailed in the Corporate Plan. Achieve high standards of personal performance, through meeting agreed personal targets and undertaking training as required. Fulfil the legal Health and Safety duties placed on employees by: -Taking reasonable care of your own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by what you do or do not do; -Co-operating with the company on Health & Safety matters; -Ensuring that you use work items provided by the company correctly and in accordance with the training and instruction received, including personal protective equipment (PPE); -Ensuring that you do not interfere with or misuse anything provided for health, safety, or welfare purposes. -Comply with all the companys policies and procedures. -Maintain high standards of personal accountability. -Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training. PERSON SPECIFICATION ASSEMBLY FITTER- POWER UNIT Essential Criteria Qualifications, & Experience 2 years experience with hydraulics and heavy machinery assembly. Experience building Power Units Knowledge Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes. Skills and Competencies Effective communication and interpersonal skills to deal with individuals at all levels of the business successfully; Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail; Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative; Flexibility to move between required tasks, business needs and departments.
