Job Description
Lecturer in SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health Support) Full-time or Part-time (0.4 FTE) Northampton Think FE are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking further education college in Northamptonshire for a passionate and experienced SEMH Lecturer. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver tailored teaching and support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them to overcome barriers and thrive in education. You will design and deliver engaging, differentiated programmes, working collaboratively with the SEND and Safeguarding teams to ensure a holistic and supportive approach. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, inclusive teaching in classroom, small group, and 1:1 formats Plan and implement Functional Skills and personalised learning programmes tailored to SEMH needs Work closely with internal support teams to ensure learners receive appropriate adjustments and pastoral care Create a trauma-informed environment that supports emotional regulation, positive behaviour and resilience Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion across all teaching and interactions What do you need? Minimum Grade C (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English Experience supporting post-16 students, particularly with SEMH or related needs Proven ability to engage and motivate vulnerable learners through inclusive teaching strategies Flexible, creative and resilient, with strong teamwork and communication skills Ideally you will also have: Educated to degree level or equivalent Holding a teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd) What’s on offer? Full-time salary or part time positions are available with a full time salary of £28,056 – £34,492 per annum.
