Advertisement Details The main duties of the Deckhand include: Assist the Pilot in boarding and landing to/from vessels, piers and jetties Assist vessel’s crewmembers/passengers in embarking and disembarking vessels, piers and jetties Assist and direct non SIC personnel to ensure compliance with safety procedures whilst in SIC facilities by delivering a safety briefing indicating location and use of lifesaving equipment such as lifejackets and life-rafts. In addition, to advise of procedures to be followed in case of fire, collision or grounding as displayed on international safety instruction posters etc. Assist in the stowage, delivery, handling and receiving of materials in transit to/from the vessel, such as perishable stores, general stores and other equipment More detail is provided in the Job Profile, Person Specification and Conditions of Service Summary attached to the bottom of this advert.
