YOUR TEAM We offer you an exciting opportunity for your master thesis or for an internship in our ADAS/AD Pre-Development team in in the field of model engineering for autonomous driving. Your specific research topic will be centered around multi-modal large language models (MLLMs). The goal is to enhance environment perception and, potentially, action planning using MLLMs. As an optional extension, your work may be integrated into our AD/ADAS software stack and/or our learning environment. The department works on software and machine learning models for automated driving in urban environments. Within this department, we are a team of ambitious and highly motivated experts in the field of self-driving vehicles working in an agile environment to advance the autonomous driving stack. WHAT YOU WILL DO Develop a method to improve environment perception, and, potentially action planning using MLLMs Conduct evaluation using public datasets Work closely with our PhD students and the model engineering team WHO YOU ARE MSc studies in computer science, electrical engineering, or comparable fields Very good academic record (please attach your transcript in the application) Solid knowledge of machine learning and computer vision; experience with vision-language models, vision-language-action models and/or reinforcement learning is preferable Hands-on experience in software development, proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks, preferably PyTorch Independent, highly motivated, and structured thinking Fluent in English NICE TO KNOW Remote work options within Germany Duration: 6 months 35 h/week At CARIAD, we embrace individuality and diversity because we believe our differences make us stronger.
