Job Description
Overview Amazon is seeking bright, motivated and hardworking individuals to fill Sort Center Learning Manager position at our SC (Sort Center). The ideal candidate possesses strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to customer service as it relates to product fulfillment. The position may require using radio frequency scanners, moving shipments to the right location, unloading/loading a truck, sortation, and handling exceptions within the facility. SC Trainers are expected to understand all aspects of production, adhere to safety, quality and production standards, and be willing to work in multiple shifts. The role requires flexibility to fit into any Sort Center role, including loading or unloading material or sortation. The job is demanding and learning-oriented, with a focus on delivering excellent service to customers at all times. Responsibilities Employee Development: Help and assist the Learning Manager to foster development and growth of Amazon.com employees; assist in creating and implementing training plans for managers, trainers and others. Content and Training: Create/update accurate on-the-job tasks, SOPs and training aids/visuals/OPLs; identify production and scheduling conflicts and report to the LM; manage the learning department to train and develop new and existing SC associates, specialists, and managers. Ambassador/Trainer Development: Identify potential ambassadors/trainers and groom them to take various Sort Center process training; lead team of associates, ambassadors and trainers. Cross-Functional Leadership: Develop and manage cross-functional teams to meet operational needs; work with Stakeholders and site operations to attain performance goals. Administrative: Update, track and record training progress and skill sets; create and manage training content and documentation; track and communicate assignments and progress; conduct training and compliance audits on associates. Metrics and Compliance: Understand and implement methods for gathering/tracking training metrics; track metrics for associates, ambassadors and trainers and report gaps to LM. Leadership Lead teams of associates, ambassadors and Trainers; develop and manage cross-functional teams to meet operational needs. Monitor training outcomes and collaborate with site operations to achieve performance goals. Administrative and Physical Demands Update and maintain training records; manage training content and documentation; conduct audits as required. Physical: stand/walk regularly; lift, bend, reach, kneel, crouch; push/pull heavy items; operate with full manual dexterity; read, write and follow directions. Work Environment Work around moving mechanical parts; noise levels can be loud; work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required; overtime may be required. Able to read, write and take direction; ability to push/pull/squat/bend/reach as needed. Qualifications The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking in front of groups and one-on-one; able to give and receive feedback effectively. Ability to drive understanding using visual aids; recognize when groups or individuals need more attention. Experience using computers to develop materials, presentations, and communicate via email. Demonstrated positive work attitude and leadership; commitment to safety; advanced knowledge of computers, networking, internet knowledge and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Excellent written and oral communication with good email etiquette. Graduate with 3–4 years of experience in Facilitation, Content Development, Instructional Design, and executing end-to-end training processes. Certification in Training and Development (Preferred); experience leading a team of trainers is a plus.
