Cloud Engineer

Overview We are searching for an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in cloud database architectures to join our team. In this position, you will be tasked with ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of cloud-based solutions within critical production environments. You will work collaboratively across teams to design and implement innovative cloud solutions. Responsibilities Architect, implement, and manage reliable and optimized cloud databases using systems like Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, and Azure SQL Database Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions Improve database performance by optimizing SQL queries, PLSQL processes, and Bash scripts Diagnose and resolve issues related to performance and availability in complex production systems Oversee security and access management using tools such as Vault and BeyondTrust while monitoring systems with platforms like Datadog and CloudWatch Automate infrastructure and workflows using Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, and GitLab Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline At least 2 years of experience in cloud engineering roles In-depth knowledge of Amazon RDS, including configuration and optimization techniques Practical experience managing DynamoDB for non-relational databases Proficiency in ElastiCache for enhancing performance and caching solutions Experience with Azure SQL Database for managing scalable relational databases in the cloud Advanced expertise in database design, modeling, query optimization, and scalability best practices Familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Datadog to ensure system reliability Strong experience in automating infrastructure using tools such as Terraform and Ansible Skilled in using task management and tracking tools like Jira Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams Fluent English communication skills, written and spoken, at a B2 level or higher Nice to have Experience working with additional database engines and cloud services beyond the listed tools Knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes Understanding of advanced security practices for cloud-based systems Certifications in AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000 courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn Seniority level Associate Employment type Full-time Job function Engineering, Information Technology, and Business Development Industries Software Development, IT Services and IT Consulting, and Financial Services J-18808-Ljbffr
