Job Description

Overview CAE’s Simulator Technician Internship, based in Sesto Calende, Lombardy, Italy, offers an opportunity to learn and support pilots while working on advanced flight simulators and related systems. The role is part of a 24/7 operation with a 4 Days On / 4 Days Off cycle and alternating Day (07:00–19:00) and Night (19:00–07:00) shifts. Lunch/dinner on duty is provided by the company’s internal canteen. There is a clear progression path across multiple levels within the function, with opportunities to grow beyond this internship. Responsibilities Prepare the Simulation Training Equipment for daily operation for each training device according to the published monthly schedules. Load appropriate exercise scenarios and complete journey logs at the start and end of scheduled training sessions. Receive training and perform simple assignments in office, on site, field, and laboratory; participate in projects of experimental or design nature; solve a variety of complex simulator and/or aircraft system problems. Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated systems; assist in diagnosing and correcting problems; use the maintenance management system to record and track activities. Assist in pre-flight and post-flight operations on designated simulators; perform basic visual alignments; support automated qualification testing (QTG); assist with hardware refurbishments and modifications. Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner; maintain simulators and perform logistics and administrative tasks as required. What you will learn / tasks you will perform Learn to perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on simulator equipment; use test instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.). Operate and test simulator systems and related aircraft systems; document activities and contribute to continuous improvement. Develop familiarity with quality management processes and CAE standards, and support technical services operations. Ideal candidate / Qualifications Diploma in Electronics / Mechatronics / Aeronautics / Mechanics (required); hands-on technical experience preferred if the candidate lacks a specific educational background. Flexibility to work on rotating shifts; basic ability to interpret system prints and schematics. Experience with test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator, logic analyzer) and basic analogue/digital theory. Computer literate; soldering and circuit board repair skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office. Fluent in English and/or Italian. Pranzo o cena durante il turno sono offerti dall’azienda. Responsabilità : Preparare l’attrezzatura di simulazione, caricare scenari, compilare registri di bordo, partecipare a progetti sperimentali o di progettazione, risolvere problemi complessi relativi ai simulatori o ai sistemi aeronautici. Competenze che svilupperai : Manutenzione preventiva, diagnosi e riparazioni, gestione della manutenzione, supporto alle attività formative, operazioni pre/post volo, test automatici (QTG), modifiche hardware, conformità al sistema di qualità CAE, servizio al cliente, logistica e attività amministrative. Competenze richieste : Diploma in Elettronica / Meccatronica / Aeronautica / Meccanica, disponibilità a turni flessibili, capacità di leggere schemi, esperienza con strumenti di prova, conoscenze di teoria analogica/digitale, competenze informatiche, saldatura e riparazione schede, italiano/inglese, conoscenza di Office.
