IT Infrastructure Engineer £50,000 to 80,000 GBP Bonus Onsite WORKING Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne, North East - United Kingdom Type: Permanent IT Infrastructure Engineer - Newcastle upon Tyne Mid to Senior-Level | £50,000 - £80,000 (depending on experience) We're building a highly skilled infrastructure team at the heart of a fast-paced, technology-driven organisation in Newcastle. What We're Looking For We're seeking individuals with strong technical foundations and a collaborative mindset - people who enjoy getting things done the right way, without compromising on quality or security. All candidates must have a 2:1 or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from a leading UK university. We're particularly interested in graduates from top-tier institutions , including Russell Group universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, Warwick, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh , and others. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and support secure, resilient infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments Collaborate with development teams to deliver infrastructure that supports high-performance applications and services Lead automation initiatives using tools like Terraform , Ansible , or scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Python) Drive improvements in infrastructure monitoring, observability, and incident response Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve scalability, availability, and security Support endpoint management and enterprise IT systems (e.g. Intune, SCCM, JAMF) Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning Apply infrastructure-as-code and DevOps best practices wherever possible What You'll Bring 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure or related roles Strong hands-on knowledge of networking, storage, virtualisation, and systems administration Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP) including compute, storage, identity, and networking Proficiency in automation tools and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or Bash Familiarity with endpoint and server management platforms Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance standards A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to own and deliver projects Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience in fast-paced or high-regulation environments (e.g. financial services) is a plus Why Join Us?
