Where will you be working? At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Electricity Transmission team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity. You'll be covering projects in the South West and South Wales with visits to regional offices - willingness to travel is a must! Want to come and be a part of it? What will you be doing? As a Pre-Contract Commercial Manager, you’ll manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks and remaining organised to ensure successful completion of projects. Are you a well-developed leader with the ability to work efficiently with colleagues and partners at all levels? Lead pre-tender due diligence, negotiating terms that balance governance with profit and risk mitigation Review and refine contract conditions, warranties, and guarantees, resolving deviations with clients Provide commercial summaries to support internal approvals and attend tender reviews to align stakeholders Collaborate with legal teams and clients to ensure clarity and compliance Support bid development, assess risks, and shape mitigation strategies. Manage post-award appraisals and ensure smooth handover to delivery teams Maintain accurate documentation and uphold company policies Contribute to Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards while adapting to evolving business needsAre you a strategic thinker with the ability to motivate the team? This could be your next role! What you’ll bring Relevant qualification to degree level Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Detailed working knowledge of the NEC and FIDIC standard forms of Contract and relevant contract law. The ability to work to deadlines Financially & commercially astute with experience of pre-contract negotiations Experience as a Pre-Contracts Manager, Pre-Construction Manager, Commercial Manager or similar Ability to analyse complex tender documentation & pricing schedules Knowledge of the Electricity Transmission industry would be ideal! Relationship building & influencing Full UK driving license - travel across sites & regional offices is a requirement What’s in it for you?
