Technology & Operations (T&O) is responsible for the firms worldwide operations across all asset classes and geographies. The operational functions are aligned with clients, products, fund structures and our third-party provider networks. Global Investment Operations (GIO), a function within T&O, is responsible for the development of the firms operating infrastructure to support BlackRocks investment businesses worldwide. Professionals hired into this role will become intimate with all operational flows and operational processes, including architecting operational solutions and managing relationships with portfolio managers and traders, our end clients, brokers, custodian banks, fund accountants, administrators and more. The Cash Operations team is an essential control function to the investment process ensuring that all BlackRock Cash data is accurate for investment management, analytics, compliance and regulation. Our team provides information services and solutions in support of all BlackRock and BlackRock Solutions businesses, inclusive of Middle Office Outsourcing servicing. What You Will Do • Be a risk manager: identifying, leading and mitigating operational risks and raising risk and service issues on a timely basis • Take ownership of exceptions from start to finish by investigating exception root causes, partnering with internal/external teams to take corrective action and following through until resolution is achieved • Ensure reconciliations are completed timely and accurately. Review cash exceptions daily to ensure the team is appropriately raising and resolving • Contribute to a control-focused culture by building expertise of team controls and meeting standards in output • Lead and motivate the team towards finding opportunities for process enhancements and other strategic operational enhancements that facilitates operational processes or mitigates operational risk • Understand upstream processes impactful to the reconciliation and develop ability to correlate the impact of change • Foster strong internal & external relationships, with a focus on collaboration & client service excellence Skills Required • 5-6 years previous experience in similar role • Reconciliations experience preferred • Financial Services experience essential • People management experience preferred but not essential • Experience in SQL, VBA, Java not essential but would be an advantage Who You Will Ideally Be Curious- You are an innovative thinker, constantly looking for ways to skilfully adjust and optimize processes.
