Handy Person / Maintenance Operative - Congleton

ASE Recruitment are specialist recruiters in the social housing and social care sectors providing temporary staffing to work within a variety of 24 hour supported accommodation services and floating support services for Housing Associations and Charities across the Northwest, Midlands, and Derbyshire. We are seeking a skilled Handy Person / Maintenance Operative to join a leading Housing Association in Congleton. This role focuses on ensuring void properties are efficiently refurbished and ready for re-letting, carrying out repairs, cleaning, and redecorating as needed. You will liaise with contractors, housing officers, and tenants to maintain high standards and compliance with health and safety requirements. The position offers full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with the opportunity for a temp-to-perm contract. Person Specification The ideal candidate will have a relevant trade qualification or proven experience in housing maintenance, voids, or property management. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside the ability to work independently and maintain accurate records. A good understanding of health and safety is required, as is flexibility to handle a variety of repairs and tasks. IT literacy and the ability to update databases is also important. A full UK driving licence is essential, and candidates should hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS. A commitment to high standards and customer service is key.
