About the role We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Specialist to join the team. Your proactive approach and understanding of current WHS legislation will be essential in the enhancement of our safety culture. You will be responsible for promoting and providing guidance aligned to Corporate strategy and compliance with Work Health Safety (WHS) legislation for all Health & Safety matters. The role provides functional and technical advice and support to GM, Project Managers, operations employees, contractors and other relevant parties and has a key focus on continuous improvement in Health and Safety performance. The position reports directly to our Group Health & Safety Manager. The main responsibilities of this role include: Promoting and providing guidance aligned with Corporate strategy Ensuring compliance with legislation to Health & Safety matters across all Projects Providing functional and technical advice to employees, contractors and other relevant parties & ensuring they are aware of the standard safe behaviours and actions required by Iluka Advocating participation in the Group Harmonisation process and managing the implementation to Projects Managing the accuracy and integrity of site Health and Safety data in the Cintellate system Participating in ICAM investigations & providing technical mentoring and coaching for the management of incidents Ensuring site safety training packages and inductions meet the required standards Liaising with relevant parties to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory Health and Safety compliance About you To be successful for this role, you will have: Relevant qualifications in Health and Safety coupled with experience in a similar role in the resources sector Excellent leadership experience and skills in advising, mentoring and coaching diverse stakeholder groups An ability to implement strategic plans and lead teams Strong communication skills, including the ability to facilitate groups and present information Strong analytical skills Significant experience in incident investigation Comprehensive understanding of applicable legislation Auditing experience Our benefits Flexible working arrangements Ability to purchase additional Annual Leave Competitive base salary and short-term incentive program Up to 18 weeks paid parental leave Iluka Resources is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages Indigenous Australians and females to apply.
