About the Opportunity: This is a rare chance to step into a permanent role working directly with Rio Tinto. As a Heavy Diesel Fitter, you'll play a hands-on role in maintaining and repairing a high-performing mobile fleet across a leading mining operation. You'll be part of a supportive team that values safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. Roster: 8/6 - 7/7 FIFO from Perth (residential options may also be available) Full-time permanent position Site: Rio Tinto operations in the Pilbara Position Overview: As a Heavy Diesel Fitter, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of a fleet of Rio Tinto spec mobile mining equipment. Your key duties will include: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on large mining trucks, excavators, dozers, and graders. (CAT24M, CAT6060, CAT793, etc) Performing breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, and component changeouts Assisting with installation of mining machinery components and modifications Ensuring all work meets Rio Tinto maintenance standards and safety protocols What We're Looking For: Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel trade qualification (Cert III Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent) Minimum 2 years' post-trade experience in mining or large-scale surface operations Strong experience with CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, or Liebherr mobile equipment Manual C Class Driver's Licence Able to pass a full pre-employment medical Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (mandatory) What's in it for You?
