Job Description

Product Development: Design and develop new products using 3D and 2D CAE. Design and manufacture of prototypes, jigs and off tool samples and specifying the processes required to manufacture the product. Create detailed and accurate process documents. Fabricate models based on an approved concept that can be tested. Conduct fitments of prototype and off-tool products. Provide support during Preproduction Trials. Work efficiently in order to meet MAXEs strategic goals and satisfy customer requirements Fabrication: Support in the fabrication of jigs and fixtures, prototypes & off tool samples. Support in the development of new products. Read engineering drawings &/or information received, interpret the information received and conduct the work in the most efficient way possible. Form and shape sheet metal, tubular metal and alike using hand or power operated machines. Mechanically cut, drill and punch fabrication materials. Cut materials using the oxy-fuel gas cutting process (manual cutting). Weld materials (shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding). Remove metals using oxy-fuel and plasma cutting processes. Fitment: Conduct and/or assist in the fitment of products as required. Maintaining safe working conditions and ensuring the vehicle is protected from damage of any kind. Finance: Work within budget during the development process. Maintain good time keeping skills and the efficient usage of company time. Ensure all MRP BOMs are captured correctly and reflect all the components and processes of the physical part to ensure accurate costing & MRP planning. Protect company assets (working capital & fixed assets). Detect and prevent fraud. Promote good Corporate Governance. SHEQ: Quality core tools and APQP for all product developments Comply with the requirements of the Quality Management Systems. Adhere to company SHEQ policy. Be mindful of SHEQ issues in the development and hand over process and that these are designed out of the products manufacture, fitment and operation. Identify potential hazards and critical safety issues in the workplace. Address workplace hazards and risks immediately Work safely and use safety equipment. Educational: Matric/ Grade 12 with Mathematics National Diploma Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification Experiential: Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
