Project Engineer (CAPEX)

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for an established manufacturing business based in Derbyshire, who are looking to welcome a Project Engineer into a growing technical engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a proven track record in delivering CAPEX and continuous improvement projects, within a high volume manufacturing site. As the Project Engineer you will: Drive projects from initial concept through to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and aligned with business objectives Responsible for delivering high-impact projects that drive operational excellence Support capital investment plans, specify technical requirements for new equipment, and align with long-term asset management life-cycle strategies and systems Interact with Engineering management to interpret requirements for the relevant strategy, provide a technical overview & guidance Work with the relevant departments to complete basic design concept and understand user requirements, communicate with a multitude of equipment OEM’s (Both National & International) Provide a clear and concise case for capital investment with project documentation completed & submitted for approval Contractor management and network building Weekly updates and monthly reports To be considered for the Project Engineer role you will need: Mechanical or Electrical specialist with a hands-on skilled background in either discipline Time served engineer with experience in a production facility environment (apprenticeship minimum) having achieved mechanical/electrical engineering focused qualification Have project management ability, with a proven track record of delivering projects through structured phases Be competent in managing priorities, timelines, and budgets independently Have a continuous improvement mindset, actively seeking ways to optimise and innovate, be proactive Have clear communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective cross-functional collaboration Have excellent People and resource management, including the ability to influence and coordinate teams Have Digital proficiency, with experience using MS Office, CMMS, AutoCAD, and project management software
