Overview Software Development Engineer (12 month contract), EU Prime Savings Tech Hub. Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Full-stack Software Development Engineer to join the EU Prime Savings or EU Prime Speed tech team. This is a fixed 12-month contract on-site role for offices in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich or Luxembourg. Apply if you are located in one of those locations and have a valid work permit. Software Development Engineers will be responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and tools. The role requires the ability to hit the ground running and to learn quickly while working on disparate and overlapping tasks. You will work closely with business partners, UI/UX designers and other SDEs to build new Amazon Prime customer-facing experiences. The EU Prime Savings team (informally, Prime Xclusive Genie, PXG) focuses on enhancing the Prime Value proposition for EU Prime members, aiming to increase annual savings through promotional strategies and to create more engaging shopping experiences throughout the year. The EU Prime Speed team works on improving speed and convenience for Prime customers, building infrastructure and programs to emphasize Prime value and member experience. Responsibilities Design and build large-scale systems that empower Amazon Prime customers to have seamless shopping experiences. Own the delivery of end-to-end, full-stack solutions. Make sound engineering decisions and contribute to continuous software development practices and improvements. Build experimentation frameworks to drive continuous testing of new marketing experiences. Qualifications Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems. Experience (non-internship) in professional software development. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience. Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent (preferred). Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations (preferred).
