Job Description

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely monthly reporting to the Financial Manager. The role ensures that all reporting, compliance, and financial analysis requirements are met, while contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes. Key Responsibilities: Reporting, Preparation & Analysis: Deliver accurate flash reporting packs and final accounts to the Financial Manager within deadlines. Prepare monthly management accounts and perform general ledger reconciliations. Compile monthly management packs for reporting channels. Provide financial commentary and value driver analysis. Prepare the group reporting pack. Complete underwriting and product profitability value driver reports. Assist with expense analysis and reporting. Submit monthly TMPS reporting. Maintain budget and forecast models. Manage business cash flows and cash flow forecasts. Assist in preparing annual financial statements. Liaise with auditors and provide required information. Other Duties: Prepare commission calculations. Assist in preparing board packs. Supervise Debtors and Finance Clerk. Support the application of new accounting standards. Keep updated with new tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements, while assessing impact on the business. Qualifications & Experience: B.Com or an equivalent Accounting Degree. 13 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role. Completion of SAICA articles (preferred). Experience in the insurance industry (advantageous). Strong financial reporting and analysis experience. Thank you for applying with RAREcruit!
