Hyperbaric Safety Coordinator

Job Description POSITION TITLE: Hyperbaric Safety Coordinator POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of the Wound Care Center, the Hyperbaric Safety Coordinator (HSC) administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the provider. This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chambers and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients. The role includes day-to-day maintenance of hyperbaric chambers, assessment of materials suitable for use in hyperbaric environments, and overseeing safety procedures, including emergency drills in accordance with hospital policies and governing bodies. EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE: High School Diploma or GED Current Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS) certification Completion of an approved Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Safety course within the past 5 years Completion of an approved hyperbaric medicine introductory course from recognized organizations (e.g., Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society, Department of Defense, American College of Hyperbaric Medicine) Current healthcare professional license or certification relevant to practice (e.g., RN, LPN, LVN, hyperbaric specialist, wound specialist), maintained throughout employment Minimum of two (2) years healthcare experience Rome Health is a non-profit health care system based in Rome, N.Y., providing services throughout Central New York.
