General information Duration: 6 months Commitment: Full-time Description: Full-Stack Developer Traineeship Opportunity (Erasmus Candidates Only) Duration : Minimum 6-month engagement Commitment : Full-time (5 days per week, 35 hours weekly, 10:00 - 17:00) Location : Via Casilina 3T, Rome, Italy Mode : On-site with an option for partial remote work Description : We are looking for a highly skilled and autonomous Full-Stack Developer trainee to lead the redevelopment of our marketplace platform for plants , GreenEasy. The platform aims to provide users with scientifically driven plant recommendations, ensuring that the selected plants are easy to maintain and suited for their environment, while also offering options that can contribute to local phytoremediation efforts by absorbing pollutants. The current challenges include helping users avoid costly mistakes when purchasing plants online, which often leads to dissatisfaction and waste. Additionally, the platform will offer guidance on choosing plants that can effectively mitigate environmental pollution, addressing a pressing global issue. Ideal Candidate Profile : Educational Background : Enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Technical Skills : Strong expertise in front-end and back-end development , with hands-on experience in modern web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js for front-end; Node.js, Django, or similar for back-end). Extensive experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) to handle large datasets (50,000 records) efficiently. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and the ability to integrate complex search and recommendation algorithms based on plant characteristics and environmental data. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs , server-side logic, and microservices architecture. Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) for scalable web development and deployment. Language Requirement : A good command of English is required for effective communication within the team and documentation. Learning and Development : High interest in developing sustainable, data-driven marketplaces that enhance user experience and contribute to environmental sustainability. Ability to independently manage and execute complex web development projects, from architectural design to deployment. Collaboration and Communication : Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with data scientists, UX/UI designers, and environmental specialists. Capable of explaining technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and contributing to cross-departmental projects. Daily Tasks : Redesign and develop a responsive, user-friendly marketplace for plants, focusing on usability and scientific accuracy in plant recommendations. Implement sophisticated search filters and algorithms that recommend plants based on local environmental conditions and user preferences. Develop features that help users select plants capable of absorbing specific pollutants, contributing to phytoremediation goals. Manage the integration of a large plant database (50,000 records) and optimize system performance for fast, accurate data retrieval. Ensure robust security measures, scalability, and maintainability of the platform, supporting future growth. Regularly test and troubleshoot the platform to ensure seamless functionality across all devices. Additional Information : This traineeship offers the opportunity to lead the development of a platform that not only enhances the user experience but also addresses critical environmental issues. You will play a key role in transforming the way plants are purchased online, leveraging data-driven recommendations to reduce waste and promote sustainable solutions like phytoremediation. Partial remote work is possible to accommodate academic needs.
