JOB PURPOSE: The role of the Payroll Intern is to provide comprehensive support to the HR and Finance departments in payroll processing, time & attendance management, workforce administration, benefits policies, employee inquiries, G/L entries and reconciliations, employee relations, and file maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up and maintain files for all new and terminated employees. Maintain time clocks and associated software to collect timely time & attendance data. Collect, control, and administer travel & expenses claims. Support monitoring and control of payroll process cycles. Interact with ADP payroll provider to collect and validate data (T&A, T&E, compensation, allowances, rewards, bonuses, others). Handle payroll adjustments such as shortages, garnishments, and bonus pay. Prepare and maintain non-wage compensation entries and files (education assistance, group-term life, sales prizes, employee awards, personal use of company car, moving expenses). Prepare monthly payroll summaries for General Ledger entries. Generate periodic payroll reports and analyses as requested. Provide general HR and administrative support. Respond to employment verification inquiries from outside the company. Assist in designing and administering benefit programs, including answering employee questions, day-to-day administration, new hire orientation, and leave of absence management. Prepare reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions periodically. Coordinate with supervisors, HR personnel, outside payroll services, and other providers. Track and process taxable fringe benefits and vacation balances. Reconcile payroll GL accounts and ensure accurate journal entries for T&E and HR costs. Verify employee wages and assist in HR data analysis and merit program implementation. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required. Qualified Payroll certification or equivalent with 2-3 years of relevant experience. Intermediate proficiency in Excel. Detail-oriented and process-driven. Strong sense of urgency and follow-up skills. Experience in multinational manufacturing environments is a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with team members at all levels. Ability to multitask and take on new responsibilities. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written. J-18808-Ljbffr
