External Managers Department seeks to identify and develop relationships with top global investment managers to benefit GIC and capture investment opportunities to outperform benchmarks. Role : Credit Portfolio Manager in Singapore. You will be part of an investment team investing in funds run by external managers. Responsibilities include manager selection and strategy due diligence, structuring and monitoring fund investments, with a focus on public credit strategies (corporate and asset-backed credit funds). What impact can you make in this role? You will be part of GIC’s internal investment function, awarding investment directives to external fund managers whose capabilities complement ours. We pursue an active investing approach for funds under external management to outperform public market benchmark indices. What will you do as a Credit Portfolio Manager? Source, underwrite and monitor credit fund investments in corporate and structured products strategies, including investment grade and high yield long-only and absolute return funds Perform due diligence on prospective external fund investments: meet managers, conduct qualitative manager and strategy analysis, and perform quantitative track record analysis Monitor existing portfolio of fund investments with regular updates from managers Collaborate with internal teams on the strategic direction of external fund investments Produce monthly/quarterly/annual internal reports and presentations at fund and strategy levels, including insights from fund managers Qualifications and skills At least 4 to 6 years of credit investing experience as a fund allocator, including long-only fixed income and credit investing Prior direct investing/credit underwriting experience strongly preferred but not required Strong understanding of investment-grade and high-yield public corporate and securitized credit markets and fund strategies Excellent analytical ability and very high attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to craft clear and impactful presentations Motivated, individually curious about markets and investing Independent thinker who can articulate views effectively, both verbally and in writing Collaborative team player with ability to work across multiple teams Work at the Point of Impact We are forward-looking to attract the right people to become the Leading Global Long-term Investor.
