The University of Oxford is seeking a Personnel Development Trainer to join our Security Services Team. Our Security Services Team plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all who work, study, and visit the University. The team delivers intelligence-led patrols, CCTV monitoring, and rapid incident response, ensuring the protection of our people and property. We are seeking a Personnel Development Trainer to join our Security Services Team on a permanent basis - an exciting opportunity to contribute to the professional growth of a dedicated team in a world-renowned institution. About the Role In this role, you will design and deliver training that equips our security team with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to respond effectively to emerging security challenges. From crime prevention and emergency response to the latest security legislation, your training will have a real-world impact, ensuring a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate, incorporating digital learning, hands-on exercises, and best practices from national security bodies. You will also broaden your network by delivering professional development and customer service training across Estates Services and collaborating with College staff to build a cohesive security network. Your work will not only strengthen operational readiness but also foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. About You Training & Development - Experience in designing and delivering security-related training, using a range of methods including in-person, digital, and interactive learning. Security & Emergency Preparedness - Strong knowledge of security practices, legislation, and emergency response protocols, with the ability to train others in best practices. People Development & Mentoring - Ability to assess training needs, coach individuals, and promote a culture of continuous professional development. Communication & Presentation - Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and create clear, accessible training materials. Organisational & Planning Skills - Experience in structuring and delivering group training, running exercises, and facilitating debriefs to drive improvements. Digital & Technical Proficiency - Confident in using Microsoft Office, digital training tools, and technology to enhance learning and service delivery.
