What We’re Looking For In addition to the specific requirements for each area below, we are looking for: High level of accuracy and attention to detail Professional telephone manner and experience in dealing with clients A methodical approach to work and ability to prioritise own workload Good organisational skills Proficient in MS Office 1) COMMERCIAL PROPERTY PARALEGAL Permanent / Full time Office based in either Thame, Oxfordshire or Marlow, Buckinghamshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake an array of commercial property matters and provide support to Partners and Solicitors. This position would suit an individual aspiring to qualify as a Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer in this area. Lightfoots offers sponsorship for qualifications to undertake SQE, CLC or CILEX after a qualifying length of service. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Paralegal or Legal Executive in Commercial Property, including development projects of both residential and commercial nature. Responsibilities Review and draft routine legal documents Create and maintain case files Facilitate the meeting of attorney's deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders Conduct legal research Skills & Experience At least 2 years previous experience as a Paralegal in Commercial Property is essential. Good knowledge of Commercial Property law 2) MORTGAGE LITIGATION PARALEGAL Permanent/Full time Office Based in Thame, Oxfordshire An exciting opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to join our friendly Mortgage Litigation team and also support the general Litigation team. You will be responsible for assisting fee earners as well as providing comprehensive administrative and legal support. Key Responsibilities Open and maintain electronic case files, keeping organised by actioning workflow entries and processing client instructions. Initially, assisting fee earners in department with case load and under their direction. Review Land Registry Office Copies. Prepare routine legal documents using templates from our case management system. Issue proceedings, obtain Court Orders and take enforcement action. Prepare, file and serve Court bundles. Assist fee earners in preparing invoices and ensure all fees are accounted for. Supporting Fee Earners with the day-to-day management of files. Skills & Experience At least 1 years experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal is essential 3) CONVEYANCING PARALEGAL / ASSISTANT Permanent / Full Time Office based in either Princes Risborough or Marlow, Buckinghamshire (or a mix of the two offices) We are looking for a Conveyancing Paralegal / Assistant to join our Residential Conveyancing Team You will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and legal support to the Fee Earners in the team. This role would suit an ambitious individual keen to expand their experience in conveyancing with the opportunity for study support and future progression. Key Responsibilities Supporting Fee Earners with the day to day running of files; Taking initial instructions from clients in order to produce quotes; Opening new files using our Case Management System; Preparing files so they are ready for the fee earners to work on, such as chasing clients for documentation, ensuring ID checks are undertaken and funds are placed on account; Drafting Contracts and preparing and sending Contract Packs Conduct legal research; Taking files following exchange of contracts to carry out the necessary pre-completion checks, exchange letters etc. Dealing with post-completion work, such as redemptions, submission of SDLT forms on the HMRC Portal and applications to HM Land Registry using their online portal. Closing files and dealing with any account balances. Assisting with general calls and visitors to the office when required. Skills & Experience Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal Preferable minimum 2 years' experience in similar role or conveyancing Knowledge of conveyancing would be desirable 4) LENDER FINANCE PARALEGAL Permanent/Full Time Office based in Thame, Oxfordshire Our multi-award winning Lender Finance Team is a busy, fast paced practice and due to our continued success we require a Paralegal to support the fee earners specialising in residential conveyancing or commercial property transactions. They advise mainly lender clients on all aspects of the buying and selling process, including bridging loans, buy-to-let, commercial and development, legal issues, finances and contracts. Key Responsibilities Review and draft routine legal documents; Create and maintain case files; Conduct legal research; Registering applications on Companies House; Dealing with enquiries from Companies House and Land Registry, as necessary; Issuing security documentation; Handling completion monies; Preparing invoices and ensuring all fees are accounted for prior to completion; Reporting on title upon completion; Dealing with post-completion work, such as redemptions, consent to lease, s106 approval and so forth; and Generally assisting fee earners with their files. Skills & Experience Experience as a legal secretary, assistant or paralegal Preferable 1-2 years' experience in similar role Knowledge of legal finance practice is a plus Why work for Lightfoots Solicitors?
