Job Description

Temporary Works Engineer Are you a driven and detail-oriented Civil/Temporary Works Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a motivated professional to join our growing team and play a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of engineering projects across the rail and infrastructure sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to work independently, liaise directly with clients and contractors, and develop your skills across the full project lifecycle – from concept and design through to site delivery and management. What you’ll be doing Delivering preliminary and detailed designs for a variety of engineering projects. Preparing technical drawings, specifications, and reports to a high standard. Carrying out structural analysis and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Supporting fee/tender proposals and winning new work. Coordinating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. Attending site visits and inspections , ensuring safe and practical solutions. Managing project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication . Mentoring and supporting junior and graduate engineers. What we’re looking for A degree (BEng/MEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited course. A strong commitment to progressing towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status . At least 2 years’ experience Proficiency in design and analysis software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation a bonus). Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. A proactive, adaptable approach with strong attention to detail. PTS certification and a full driving licence are advantageous.
