Junior Accountant

Position: Junior Accountant Location: Hybrid - 3 days in office, downtown Toronto (walking distance from Union Station)Schedule: Core business hoursJob Type: 3-month contract, with possibility of extensionOur client is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant with 3-5 years of general accounting experience. This is a 3-month contract role with the potential to extend, offering exposure to diverse accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, payroll, and accounts payable. Exposure to public company reporting is considered an asset.Key Responsibilities:- Prepare journal entries for monthly and quarterly activities, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.- Prepare intercompany invoices and perform related reconciliations.- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable during absences, including invoice processing, vendor setup, and payment runs.- Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain supporting schedules - Assist with vendor onboarding and maintaining vendor master data.- Prepare schedules, financial reports, and analysis for the corporate office and auditors.- Support ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned.Qualifications:- College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.- 3-5 years of general accounting experience; exposure to public company reporting is an asset.- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.- Experience with Oracle Business Suite or a similar ERP system is an asset.- Willingness to cross-train in Accounts Payable and payroll processes to provide coverage when needed.- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.What's in it for you:- Competitive compensation (aligned with market rates)- 3-month contract with possibility to extend- Hybrid work model with a convenient downtown Toronto office- Exposure to multiple areas of accounting with opportunities for growth- Supportive and collaborative team cultureReady to Take the Next Step in Your Accounting Career?
