Job Description

The Global Campus of Human Rights is seeking a qualified individual for the position of full-time Human Resources Specialist at its Headquarters in Venice-Lido, Italy. The Human Resources Specialist will support the human resources management of the Global Campus Headquarters under the supervision of the Administrative and Human Resources Director. The role aims to foster a results-oriented, flexible, high-performing, and positive working culture within the organization. Responsibilities primarily include day-to-day management of human resources , as well as revising and designing human resources policies related to performance assessment and career development, in collaboration with the Administrative and Human Resources Director. The Global Campus of Human Rights is an international network of universities registered as a non-profit organization in Italy, founded in the late 1990s, with an international staff of around 40 employees across various academic and administrative departments. The Administrative and Human Resources Director is supported by an external Labour Councillor for contractual matters and payroll finalization, working closely with the trade union representative. The candidate must be an experienced human resources specialist with a strong sense of initiative and motivation to work in an international environment. The position requires a significant portion of work to be performed in person at the Global Campus premises in Venice-Lido, with the possibility for partial smart work. Key Responsibilities and Duties Day-to-day human resources management along the employment lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee support, performance assessments, and more. Administrative management of staff contracts and internship agreements, including drafting. Management of staff attendance procedures. Responding to staff requests related to human resources issues, in coordination with the Administrative and Human Resources Director. Fostering a positive work environment by resolving conflicts and handling grievances, including through the GC Safeguarding and Integrity System. Designing and revising human resources policies and strategies for staff performance assessment and career development, including redesigning the annual staff performance assessment procedure and developing strategies on training and career incentives. Reporting to GC Senior Management on developments, concerns, and areas for improvement and strategy development. Required Qualifications Minimum of five years’ experience in a human resources role. In-depth knowledge of Italian labour law, standards, and the CCNL applicable to the organization. Proven experience with drafting and managing employment, collaboration, and internship contracts. Experience managing staff attendance data and policies. Excellent command of spoken and written English and Italian. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. High discretion and ability to handle sensitive / confidential information. Ability to prioritize and work under pressure. Desired Qualifications or Experience Relevant university degree (e.g., labour law, organizational psychology). Experience in an international environment. Experience in the non-profit or academic sectors. Interest in human rights and democratization topics. What We Offer 1-year full-time subordinate contract (National Collective Labour Agreement, commercial sector) with potential for part-time work and renewal. Salary at II Level range, based on qualifications. Smart Work Policy : 3 days per week in the office.
