Financial Services Skills Coach

Job Location

Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor/Skills Coach to join our apprenticeship delivery team, focusing on the Financial Services Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship. This exciting opportunity combines classroom teaching with workplace visits, offering a varied and rewarding role where you’ll directly support apprentices on their journey to success. The programme includes the embedded CII CF1 qualification – UK Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics, giving learners a strong foundation in the industry while ensuring employers benefit from highly skilled and compliant staff. You’ll be at the forefront of guiding learners through their apprenticeship journey, ensuring they develop the technical knowledge, professional behaviours, and confidence required to thrive in a regulated financial services environment. Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions, both in the classroom and in workplace settings. Support apprentices in developing the skills and knowledge required for success in financial services roles (banks, building societies, insurance firms, mortgage providers, financial advisers, etc.). Prepare learners for assessment and ensure timely achievement of both the apprenticeship and embedded qualifications. Conduct workplace visits and regular progress reviews, working closely with employers to monitor learner progress. Maintain accurate records on the E-portfolio system for compliance, quality assurance, and audit purposes. Contribute to curriculum development and ensure training materials remain current, relevant, and aligned to industry standards. Provide tailored support and feedback to ensure apprentices are fully prepared for their end-point assessment. What We’re Looking For We are particularly keen to hear from professionals with a strong background in financial services, ideally in roles regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (e.g., insurance, financial advice, banking, building societies, or mortgage services). Essential skills and requirements: Minimum of 3 years’ relevant industry experience within financial services. Strong knowledge of sector-specific regulations and compliance standards. A teaching or training background is highly desirable (however, those with the right industry expertise and willingness to work towards a teaching qualification will be considered). Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to inspire and motivate learners. Ability to travel to workplaces and attend head office once per week (business mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile). Must hold (or be willing to achieve) English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent). Car owner/driver with business use insurance. Enhanced DBS check (or registered with the update service).
