Job Description

Main Responsibilities (but not limited to): Control all aspects of the vehicle repair process from receipt of job card to delivery of vehicle to customer. Ensure efficient logistics surrounding parts supply, repair processes and outwork. Communicate possible delays to customers timeously. Ensure quality workmanship and strive towards 100% Fix Right First Time. Ensure all vehicles are quality checked before handover to customer. Ensure adherence to OEM specified processes and systems. Ensure adherence to legal and statutory requirements regarding a safe working environment. Optimise business profitability through effective stock control, by minimising repair times and by maximising throughput. Provide continuous feedback to customers to ensure highest possible customer satisfaction. Provide customer with efficient and friendly handover process after completion of repair process. Update Autowatch system via cell phone. Assist with quotations as and when required. In conjunction with General Manager, ensure all customer complaints are effectively resolved. Assist Panelbeaters with problem solving and guidance. Identify staff training needs and arrange required training in conjunction with General Manager. Ensure all vehicles are repaired effectively within the expected time frame. It is a prerequisite of this position, that both this role and that of Production Assistance be on the premises all the time, during office hours. Essential Qualifications: Matric (highly advantageous) Qualified Panelbeater Minimum Experience: It would be considered a distinct advantage to have supervisory/foreman experience. A minimum of 3 years working experience as a qualified Panelbeater in a body repair business. End-to-end understanding of workflow and operational processes in a body repair business. Proven customer service experience in a technical environment. Estimating experience. Essential Competencies: Coping with Pressure & Setbacks Delivering Results & Meeting Customer Expectations Following Instructions & Procedures Leading & Supervising Planning & Organising Problem Solving Technical Competencies: Good understanding of general automotive technology. Thorough understanding of structural repair processes. Ability to effectively convey technical terminology verbally.
