Junior Accountant

Junior Accountant - Stanger Report to: Finance Manager Seniority Level: Entry Level (up to 3 yrs exp) Type: Permanent Duties and Responsibilities: Process journals into Sage Evolution and/or Buildsmart (e.g. payroll, depreciation, and asset acquisitions). Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register and Instalment Sale Register. Manage supplier accounts: follow up on invoices, apply discounts, assist with processing. Process daily bank transactions and prepare daily cash reconciliations. Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation. Support with monthly SARS submissions (VAT, EMP, Income Tax). Complete supplier application and compliance documentation. Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance (advantageous). 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience. Prior experience in the construction / civils industry beneficial. Knowledge of Sage Evolution or Buildsmart advantageous. Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals. Highly organized, neat, accurate, and punctual. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a small team environment. Must have own reliable transport (due to office location).
