Mechanical Engineeer

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies Qualifications: Grade 12 / Matric BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree Valid Drivers License Experience: At least 5 years management experience within a mining, process plant, or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge and experience in maintenance planning and cost centre control . Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering fields, including mechanical, electrical, electronics, and structural systems . Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and engineering principles related to heavy machinery. Solid understanding of plant processes and operational systems. Ability to conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions. Strong diagnostic, analytical, and reporting capabilities. Proven track record in process, plant, and equipment optimization. Personal Skills: Strong leadership and people management abilities. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and meet set performance targets. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of maintenance-related activities, including but not limited to: Managing programs that monitor equipment operational status and condition. Creating and maintaining trend data for component-level performance. Coordinating oil analysis programs and maintaining a database of lubricants. Implementing maintenance projects to enhance plant reliability across processing and mobile equipment. Overseeing lifting equipment, machinery, hazardous chemical and oil storage facilities, diesel installations, and dispensing areas. Ensuring structural integrity of installations, repairs, removals, and replacements. Managing on-site traffic systems and enforcing compliance with safety standards.
