As written by our client… “Musical Theatre, performance, reading, writing, directing, producing, acting and singing are particular passions of mine and I would like to think there are kindred spirits that would like to share this journey with me. I intend to join multiple societies – whether it’s the Warwick Arts and Drama Group or the Taylor Swift society I intend to enjoy my time in between studies. As I’ll literally be going from zero to 100% in terms of my care support, it’s important to me that whoever I share this journey with can demonstrate compassion, discretion and patience, is a good listener and understand that this may be just as awkward for them as it will me in the first instance! I would like to use the opportunity to expand my horizons while at university, introduce regular activities such as swimming to my weekly routine and have the courage to explore beyond the boundaries of the university campus to attend gigs, performance or nights out, just as all other fresher students would when away from home for the first time. My intellectual and mental capacity are unaffected by my condition, but I do need assistance with most aspects of daily living due to underlying muscle weakness.” Care experience is not required as full training of our client's particular requirements will be provided. An Ideal Pa will: Encourage/enable our client to explore her newfound independence! Be enthusiastic in helping her to make the most of her university experience Communicate openly, and be unafraid of asking questions/exploring different routines Be patient, kind and reasonable Understand (and preferably share!) our client’s sense of humour Take initiative, but also appreciate our client’s autonomy Be a good listener Non-Smoker Be able to tolerate her constant bursting into song! Hold a clean driving licence (Desirable but not essential) Application Process: To apply, please submit a cover letter describing your interests and explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for this unique and rewarding position.
