Job Title Business Development Manager Location Dublin Working Hours Monday to Friday, 07:30 17:00 (42 hours per week) About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our UK&I Hire division. This is a field-based role with responsibility for driving new business opportunities, expanding market share, and strengthening relationships with customers across a defined geographical region. You will play a key role in delivering revenue growth through both new customer acquisition and the development of existing accounts, using a mix of face-to-face engagement and digital platforms. Key Responsibilities Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across the construction, engineering, and industrial sectors. Proactively grow revenue and profitability from a regional portfolio of customers and project sites. Build and maintain strong client relationships with main contractors, subcontractors, and key stakeholders. Maintain a robust sales pipeline and deliver consistent growth in line with business objectives. Lead localised sales initiatives and support national campaigns to position Speedy as the first-choice provider. Conduct a minimum of 25 client meetings or site visits per week, driving engagement at all levels. Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding, service delivery, and customer satisfaction. Provide commercial expertise in pricing, proposals, and contract negotiations. Support debt management and mitigate financial risk across your customer base. Record and track all activity, opportunities, and performance via the CRM system. Champion the use of digital tools, including social media and video engagement, to drive brand presence and customer interaction. Deliver competitor and market intelligence to support strategic decision-making. Promote health & safety compliance and support sustainability objectives under Speedys Decade to Deliver strategy. About You Were looking for someone with: Proven business development or sales experience, ideally within construction, hire, or engineering sectors. Strong commercial acumen with a track record in winning and growing accounts. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a consultative, solutions-driven approach. Ability to engage and influence decision-makers at all levels. Self-motivation, resilience, and the drive to consistently exceed targets. Knowledge of construction site environments and sector dynamics. Confidence using CRM systems and lead generation tools (e.g. Barbour ABI). Adaptability to support digital transformation and embrace new ways of working. A valid UK driving licence and flexibility to travel within the region. Why Join Us?
