Technician

Purpose and Responsibilities Purpose of the job This incumbent is responsible in servicing and maintaining the flow of work at Service center. This includes service centers on site, training and troubleshooting where needed Specific tasks and responsibilities Trouble shoot surface/underground at various service centres Prepare and report on site activities to management Keep an updated record of findings at service centre Maintenance and monitoring of equipment at sites Teach artisan assistants basic technical skills Assist with training of staff on machines Provide daily/ weekly reports to senior Handle customer queries and prepare counter measures Stripping and assembling of machines Testing machines Support Sales function in terms of product knowledge and quotes Stand in Foreman when required. Environmental, Safety & Health Direct responsibility for the Health, Safety and Environment of all fellow employees who either directly work in your area, or who visit the operational areas you are responsible for, either internal or external visitors. Including full legal & company compliance in areas under your responsibility. Develop a positive safety culture through the company Behavioural Safety Program. Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required Grade 12 Trade certificate & 5 years on shop floor (Job specific) At least 5-year administrative/Service experience 5 years in Mining Environment & U/G experience 3-5 years handling Customer queries & Technical issues Mining and underground experience 3 years. Attributes (be able to) Maintain W/shop flow & interact with Customers and Colleagues Prepare U/G reports. Product training for customers Selling skills-product upgrades Comply to Mining standards. On site problem solving & trouble shooting (Job specific) Computer literate -Excel/Word
