Now, the Job Post SSOE is hiring for a FurnaceDesigner who will work with our teams to help our clients gain a competitive advantage through innovative process and systems design. Responsibilities A Typical Day Might Include: . . Design/detail furnace binding steel components (buckstays, jackbolts, binding members etc.) around furnace refractory block, along with any required structural steel (platforms, columns, catwalks etc.) Piping and ductwork design Utilize Inventor 3D and Autocad 2D design software to generate drawing construction packages and fabrication drawings DESIGN LEADERSHIP Delivering quality design packages on schedule and within budget. Applying broad knowledge of mechanical, refractory and structural CAD design for practices across broad areas of assignments. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety codes, and environmental regulations. Work closely with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers. Drafting and revising furnace system layouts. Creating and refining unique design solutions to engineering problems. COORDINATION & COLLABORATION Work with the project leads to understand the project scope of work and assist in breaking it down into smaller, manageable tasks and along with establishing milestones that are delegated to team members who are empowered to execute. Regularly present progress to the internal project lead and/or client to ensure satisfaction throughout the life of the project. Work with project team to drive the design to completion while adhering to client standards and project required level of design. . . Qualifications What You Will Bring: Bachelor Degree in Architecture or Engineering field. Six (6) years or more related designer experience required. Prior experience in Machine Design is relevant in lieu of experience in Furnace Design Proficiency in Auto CAD 2D platform AutoCAD 3D, or Navisworks Advanced English level is a must requirement Good communication skills . . Desirable Skills: Inventor experience in glass design projects a plus. Experience in the design and detailing of piping systems and sheet metal ductwork systems is a plus.
