Graduate Design Engineer Location: Basingstoke area Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Looking to kick-start your career in mechanical design? This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Design Engineer or someone with a year in industry/placement year to join a cutting-edge R&D team working on precision-engineered products for a high-performance industry. About the Role Youll be hands-on from day onesupporting the full design lifecycle from concept through to testing. Expect to work closely with experienced engineers on compact mechanical mechanisms, multipart assemblies, and prototypes. This is a role that will challenge your technical thinking and build your skills rapidly in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Support the R&D team in developing design briefs and technical specifications Produce 3D models and drawings for design, assembly, and manufacture Assist in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical components Collaborate with manufacturers to resolve technical challenges Help manage project BOMs and contribute to cost-effective design solutions Participate in design reviews, assembly testing, and product improvement What Youll Need: A degree or equivalent qualification in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Knowledge of 3D CAD software (Inventor or similar) Familiarity with DFM principles and mechanical tolerancing A passion for problem-solving and continuous learning Strong communication skills and attention to detail Enthusiasm for hands-on work and real-world testing Please 'APPLY NOW' or reach out to Ellie at Orion Please note candidates will need to have Right to Work in the UK.
