What You'll Be Doing: Leading by example on shift, supporting a team of experienced carers Providing 1:1 support for children in a warm, safe, therapeutic environment Collaborating closely with a Consultant Psychologist and Registered Manager Making a tangible difference in the lives of children recovering from trauma This dedicated therapeutic residential home provides care for young children aged 5-12 on admittance to the home who have experienced severe trauma, including sexual abuse. This company is committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where these children can begin their healing journey. The team is supported by a consultant psychologist ensuring that each young persons therapeutic needs are met with the highest standards of care. In operation are full therapeutic homes with a focus on providing individualised care for each child. The children typically come from mental health hospitals or the homes of their abusers, making their first placement into residential care often a challenging and intense transition. The team however is well-equipped to manage the challenges of aggression, restraints, and other behavioural issues during the initial settling-in period. Currently the young people are settled and all in education. These young people love activities and spending time with the staff and at the hub in Newark where they can undertake activities including rock climbing, coffee mornings & summer camps. ? Cycle to Work Scheme ? £500 refer a friend scheme The successful applicant will have: 2 year experience in Residential Childcare Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare Manual Driving Licence Empathy, resilience, and a trauma-informed mindset Key Responsibilities: Lead a team in delivering exceptional care and support for young people Oversee day-to-day operations within the home, ensuring care standards are met and that the environment remains a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic space. Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the development and wellbeing of each young person, utilising individualised care plans. Ensure effective communication and teamwork within the diverse staff team, fostering an environment of support, motivation, and shared responsibility. Provide leadership during shifts, ensuring staff members have the guidance they need to perform effectively. Promote and implement trauma-informed care approaches to support the emotional and developmental needs of the children Assist with the training and development of staff, ensuring all team members have the opportunity to grow professionally. Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and the home remains compliant with regulatory standards.
