Job Description Job Description Job Title: Shelter Manager Location: Lansdale, PA Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Call Responsibilities Required Reports To: Director of Shelter and Housing About Us: Laurel House is a comprehensive domestic violence agency committed to ending abuse in every life and every community. We provide a range of supportive services including emergency shelter, transitional housing, legal advocacy, and counseling to survivors of domestic violence and their families. Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Shelter Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and trauma-informed services provided at the Safe Haven Center. This role is responsible for managing shelter staff, coordinating volunteer and intern activities, ensuring 24/7 coverage, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for all residents. The Shelter Manager will work under the direction of the Director of Shelter and Housing and share after-hours on-call responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Supervise Shelter Advocates and ensure effective delivery of support services Approve timesheets and conduct quarterly and annual evaluations Manage and maintain a 24/7 staff schedule, including coverage for callouts Oversee volunteer and intern activities Ensure new residents are oriented to communal living and receive necessary services Provide or oversee crisis counseling, intakes, and advocacy Maintain accurate documentation and generate required program reports Ensure compliance with agency, funder, and licensing standards Monitor shelter inventory and place weekly food orders Assist in the development and enforcement of shelter-specific policies Provide backup direct service support as needed Collaborate with the Director in planning, reporting, and budgeting activities Participate in staff meetings and case reviews Share in on-call rotation with other management team members Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience Experience working with domestic violence survivors strongly preferred Background in residential or DV shelter programs preferred Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Proficient in Microsoft Office and client tracking systems Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the service area Availability to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts Why Join Us?
