Membership Officer, Trade Association/Professional Body Salary £33,000 (pro rata) Permanent role Part time, 24 hours per week Working hours 0930-1500 Mon-Thu, 0930-1400 Fri (or similar working pattern to be agreed) Based at our new offices (ST18 9AB) with occasional home working and some UK travel to attend trade shows / member meetings for engagement. The Role of Membership Officer You will play a pivotal role in engaging with members, coordinating events and activities, and promoting the full value of membership benefits. You’ll support membership retention and growth, assist with onboarding new members, and act as the first point of contact for various membership-related queries. About You Essential Skills & Experience: · Outstanding administration experience · Strong written and verbal communication skills · Experience of coordinating events or member-facing programmes · Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail · Strong process improvement skills · Proficient in using IT and communications tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, Teams, MailChimp) · Strong customer service orientation and a collaborative working style · Self-motivation and the ability to manage your own workload · A collaborative approach and a commitment to getting things done right · Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines · Comfortable working remotely and independently with the ability to travel within the UK occasionally Desirable: · Experience working within a membership organisation, professional body, or not-for-profit · Understanding of membership recruitment, retention, or volunteer management · Customer service or B2B / B2C membership experience · Familiarity with website content management and social media, especially LinkedIn To apply, please send your CV to simonforrester@cmfed.co.uk. Job Description – Membership Officer Job Title: Membership Officer Reporting To: Office Manager Department/Location Head Office, Penkridge / Stafford area (ST18 9AB) with some home working and limited UK travel Main Purpose To engage with company and individual members, coordinating events and activities and promoting the full value of membership benefits. To support membership retention and growth, assist with onboarding new members, and act as the first point of contact for various membership-related queries. Duties & Responsibilities · Act as the main contact for prospective, new, and existing members, providing excellent customer service · Process membership applications and renewals, and support onboarding of new members · Keeping the membership databases up to date, ensuring accurate contact details are maintained and GDPR compliance · Coordinate planning and promotion of Regional and Sector Group meetings and trade shows (approx. 20-30 per year) to support recruitment and retention · Liaise with the Marketing team to ensure relevant information is circulated including new member details, news items and events programme · Coordinate and support the delivery of the annual awards programme · Promote membership and the association’s services at relevant external events and exhibitions · Work to support the compilation of statistics for members including the Market Report · Respond to enquiries and produce accurate correspondence including information requests to members and non-members · Liaise with external venues and suppliers relating to the organisation of events, as necessary · Promote the castings industry and membership whenever possible · Carry out any other duties as required that are commensurate with the post.
