Consultant Psychiatrist – General Adult Liaison Psychiatry Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust Whiston Hospital, Warrington Rd, Prescot, L35 5DR Role Summary: We are seeking a Consultant in General Adult Liaison Psychiatry for a community-based liaison role at site in Liverpool, working closely with the Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT). This is a full-time locum post running from 01 September 2025 to 30 January 2026 . Key Details: Grade: Consultant Specialty: General Adult Liaison Psychiatry Location: Prescot (with some travel to Knowsley Resource Centre) Dates: 01 September 2025 – 30 January 2026 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 Accommodation: Not available Travel: Cross-site travel expenses may be reimbursed by agreement Role Description: Consultant-led community liaison psychiatry service , based primarily within or near the A&E department. Work closely with the Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) . Office base also available at Knowsley Resource Centre . No outpatient clinic responsibilities. High-volume acute setting: 397 AED referrals and 437 acute ward referrals recorded in a 4-month period (Aug–Dec 2022). Full timetable available upon request. Mandatory Requirements: Approved Clinician (AC) status Section 12 approval Full GMC registration with Specialist Registration in Psychiatry Why Apply?
