The Role We’re looking for Biomedical Scientists to join our histology laboratory team in Huntingdon. Reporting to a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality histopathology services, supporting both clinical and research efforts. Key Responsibilities Perform technical work for clinical and research services. Prepare and dissect clinical specimens following Royal College of Pathologists guidelines. Conduct routine diagnostic histology: embedding, microtomy, staining, immunohistochemistry, and quality control. Maintain and troubleshoot lab instruments. Train colleagues in histology procedures. Ensure compliance with ISO 15189, HCPC standards, and the Human Tissue Act. Accurately enter and manage patient data in LIMS. Participate in out-of-hours services for urgent biopsies. What We’re Looking For Essential: BSc in a biological discipline. HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist. Experience in a pathology lab and histopathology techniques. Strong histology bench skills and lab record-keeping. Familiarity with ISO 15189 standards and health & safety regulations. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Desirable: Experience with digital pathology. What We Offer Competitive salary: £28,000–£41,000 , depending on experience. A collaborative, inclusive work environment.
