Laboratory Technician Plant (Automotive Manufacturing)

Laboratory Technician (Plant) (Automotive Manufacturing) Department: Quality Job Purpose: Perform laboratory tests to ensure product quality and help develop new formulations. Minimum Requirements: li]:mt-1.5"> Grade 12 (Matric) National Diploma/N6 in Analytical Chemistry or related field At least 3 years testing lab experience in automotive manufacturing Relevant certification Key Responsibilities: li]:mt-1.5"> Collect and register raw material and process samples Conduct product quality tests (e.g., density, tensile strength, flammability, porosity) per standards Operate laboratory equipment (e.g., hardness tester, tensile tester, ovens) Record and report results daily; prepare technical reports Coordinate testing with external labs and other plants Assist with product development and wet testing Support product audits and annual inspections Ensure equipment calibration and lab maintenance Follow quality management systems (QMS) and record keeping Identify and report quality issues; support improvements Conduct capability and measurement system analyses
