Job Description

Job Summary: The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong work ethic. Responsibilities: - Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and measurements - Constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures such as cabinets, doors, window frames, staircases, and furniture - Selecting materials and tools required for each project - Safely using hand and power tools including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns - Collaborating with other construction professionals such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers - Ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and up to code - Performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment Requirements: - Grade 12 - Technical qualification in carpentry or related is a requirement - Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a Carpenter - Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings - Proficient with hand and power tools - Excellent communication and teamwork skills - Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy materials - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications: - Certification in Carpentry or related field - Prior experience working in commercial or residential construction - Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures
