Senior Engineer - Design Architecture & Simulation

Designing, modeling and simulating at the base of autonomous defense systems? GKN Aerospace in Hoogeveen is working on the development of advanced, unmanned aerial systems for defense applications. This role revolves around modeling behavior, performance and architecture of complex vehicles in a multidisciplinary team. As a Design Architecture & Simulation Engineer, system performance is mapped out even before the first components are built - from aerodynamics to flight mechanics and system simulation. About the role This position works on shaping and calculating designs in the concept and design phases. By means of multi-domain modeling and simulation, performance, behavior and interactions are made transparent. In close collaboration with other engineers and international partners, the next generation of autonomous aviation systems is being built. Your profile: Completed college or university degree in Aerospace Engineering Experience with simulation software such as MATLAB/Simulink, StarCCM, ANSYS, Simscape, Amesim or proprietary models in e.g. Python Knowledge of Low Observable simulations (such as RCS) is a plus Familiar with software standards and model development procedures Understanding technologies such as sensors, propulsion, data links or navigation is an advantage Experience with defense or aviation standards is desired Analytical, solution-oriented and communication skills About the organization GKN Fokker Hoogeveen is part of GKN Aerospace, a globally influential player in the aerospace industry.
