Job Description
Job Purpose: To meticulously assemble and disassemble moulds for the manufacturing process. Responsible for maintaining, repairing and modifying moulds to ensure optimal performance and production efficiency. Requirements for Applicants Educational: Possession of Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science as a minimum requirement Certified C02 Welder Additional Forklift License will be advantageous Familiarity with different types of moulds and their respective components Proficient in using hand and power tools for the installation, repair and maintenance of moulds Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Experience in aluminium welding Experience in general maintenance and engineering Experiential Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mould fitting or related field in a manufacturing environment Key Performance Areas: Repairs & Maintenance Maintain and repair moulds used in the manufacturing process Inspect and test moulds to ensure they meet quality standards (carryout routine checks as per mould check sheet) Modify moulds to meet specific requirements Mould cleaning as per plan Administration Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs done to moulds Problem Solving Identity process related problems linked to moulds Oversee moulds, tool & machinery & maintenance : Attend to tool/moulds/machines so they operate correctly and produce the desired results. Assist maintenance in breakdowns/line stoppages Monitor gauges and calibrate machinery, etc. Inspect finished goods: Examine output products to ensure products are up to standards. Safety: Abide by workplace and governmental safety guidelines to reduce the chance of injury. At all times, wear proper safety gear required for the area Take reasonable health and safety care for yourself and others working with you. Cleaning up the work area – adhering to 5S principles at all times. Ensure lock out tag out procedures are followed when performing machinery maintenance or when breakdowns occur Comply with all legal and other related health and safety requirements. Identify potential hazards and critical safety issues in the workplace Address workplace hazards and risks Report any unsafe situation that comes to your attention as soon as practicable . Continuous improvement: Improve processes and procedures related to mould maintenance and repair
