RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway Track Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Rome or Naples, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division. Mission The role focuses on contributing to the design, planning, inspection, maintenance, and construction of railway tracks. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure our railway infrastructure is safe, efficient, and reliable. Key Accountabilities Track Design and Planning Support: Contribute to development and review of track layout designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Collaborate with senior engineers and other disciplines to integrate track designs into larger railway infrastructure projects. Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create and modify track designs. Maintenance and Inspection Assistance: Participate in regular inspections of railway tracks, aiding in the analysis of maintenance reports to identify issues related to wear and tear, alignment, and overall track integrity. Contribute to the creation and review of maintenance plans aimed at minimizing disruptions to train services and ensuring continuous operational safety. Help in the coordination and scheduling of maintenance activities. Track Construction and Rehabilitation Support: Contribute to supervising and coordinating track construction and rehabilitation projects, ensuring contractors adhere to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Work under the guidance of senior engineers to oversee on-site activities and ensure compliance with design specifications. Suggest innovative ideas to enhance track durability and reduce long-term maintenance needs. Safety Compliance Assistance: Collaborate with safety engineers and senior staff to ensure all safety requirements and protocols are strictly followed during track maintenance and construction activities. Contribute to monitoring safety practices and enforcing compliance to maintain a secure working environment for all personnel involved. Participate in safety incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions as directed by senior engineers. Documentation and Reporting Support: Contribute to maintaining detailed and accurate records of track maintenance activities, inspections, modifications, and construction progress. Contribute to the preparation and generation of comprehensive reports on track conditions, maintenance needs, and project updates for various stakeholders. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible for review and compliance purposes. Support the Railway Engineering Team in different technical activities related to Railway Systems Review technical reports and documentation related to the permanent way, alignment, and related civil works Participation in meetings related to design in different phases of projects (Planning, Design, Construction, Testing and Commissioning) Education Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering General Qualifications 3 years of experience in railway track engineering or a similar role. Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools. Understanding of railway infrastructure, maintenance practices, and safety protocols. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work and contribute effectively to multidisciplinary teams.
