The Center for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) is an independent, international and interdisciplinary research institute with more than 60 employees and guest researchers. It focuses on socially relevant social science research on Eastern Europe and the communication of its findings to politics, the media and the public. The Center for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) is looking for a new member of staff to join the IT department as soon as possible. IT System Administrator (m/f/d) The position of IT system administrator is a permanent full-time position (39 hours per week), which is remunerated according to the TVöD collective agreement up to pay grade E10. Place of work is Berlin. Your tasks include: Administration and further development of the IT infrastructure (network, server, storage, virtualization, backup, telecommunications) Installation, configuration and maintenance of IT systems/services and applications Troubleshooting and rectification of system faults (client/server) First and second level support for hardware, software and network Collaboration with external service providers Creation and maintenance of system documentation and instructions Control and optimization of existing processes and solutions, patch management Your profile: Successfully completed training as an IT specialist for system integration or comparable training or several years of professional experience in a comparable field of activity Relevant professional experience Very good knowledge of Microsoft systems (Windows Server 2019/2022, Windows 10 and 11, Exchange, AD, DNS, DHCP, WDS, WSUS, etc. MS SQL Server) as well as Powershell and experience in virtualization, e.g. with VMware Knowledge and practical experience in virtualization, preferably with VMware Knowledge and practical experience in working with Linux Good knowledge of current network technologies and components (LAN, WLAN, VLAN, VPN, routing, firewall, network hardware) Knowledge of backup technologies, preferably with Veeam Backup is desirable Strong sense of responsibility, especially for IT security and experience in its implementation High quality standards and independent, structured and service-oriented work Very good knowledge of English We offer: A workplace in a warm and helpful team in the center of Berlin 30 days of vacation per year, additional days off (24.12. and 31.12.)
