JOB TITLE Change Management and Business Innovation - Innovative Finance Consultant LOCATION Rome, Italy, or Remote DURATION 6 months BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE WFP has responded to increasing emergencies, requiring new approaches and innovative financing solutions to optimize resources. The Change Management and Business Innovation Unit (BIU) was established in 2015 to manage change and promote innovation within WFP. This consultancy focuses on designing and implementing innovative financing instruments to unlock new funding sources beyond traditional aid. RESPONSIBILITIES Execute Business Innovation projects in Innovative Finance. Support the development of innovative financing strategies and instruments. Conduct landscape reviews and develop financial models. Engage with donors and partners to co-develop financing structures. Support operationalization, legal, governance, and risk frameworks. Provide strategic advice to senior leadership. Prepare reports and briefing materials. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Degree in finance, economics, or related field. Minimum 2 years in innovative finance, impact investing, or development finance. Experience in management consulting or investment banking preferred. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Expertise in designing innovative financing instruments. Strong financial modeling skills. Knowledge of resource mobilization tools. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work independently and in teams. LANGUAGES Proficiency in English; additional UN languages are a plus.
