Senior Devops Engineer - London Stock Exchange Group

Role Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our Data Platforms team. You will play a key role in building and maintaining the infrastructure, automation, and tooling that support our enterprise-scale data platform. Working across hybrid and multi-cloud environments (primarily AWS and/or Azure), you will help modernise our platform and enable the secure, efficient delivery of data services. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementing infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and observability. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, and senior DevOps colleagues to ensure our platform is scalable, secure, and reliable! Key Responsibilities: • Infrastructure & Automation • Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools. • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of data services and applications. • Contribute to the containerisation of workloads and support Kubernetes-based deployments. • Platform Operations • Monitor platform health and performance using observability tools and respond to incidents as needed. • Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes. • Support the implementation of security controls, secrets management, and compliance monitoring. • Collaboration & Delivery • Work closely with data engineers and platform teams to support the delivery of data pipelines and services. • Assist in the deployment and operationalisation of ETL/ELT workflows and data products. • Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate new tools and technologies into the platform. • Learning & Development • Stay up to date with DevOps best practices, cloud-native technologies, and automation frameworks. • Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and team retrospectives. • Take ownership of tasks and grow into a subject matter expert in key areas of the platform. Skills & Experience: • Experience in a DevOps or platform engineering role, ideally within a cloud-native or data-focused environment. • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi) and CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI). • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and tooling. • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their DevOps services. • Exposure to data engineering workflows and tools (e.g., Spark, Airflow, Kafka) is a plus. • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). • Awareness of security best practices including IAM, RBAC, and secrets management. • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. • Willingness to learn from senior engineers and contribute to a high-performing team.
